How to Apply for RAD Housing

Applying for RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration) housing at HACY is done through an online application. The steps below walk you through the process from start to finish.

All families must complete an online application. Once submitted, your name will be placed on a list regulated by HUD. It is important that you keep your application current. Update it any time there is a change in your mailing address, phone number, or family composition. Many families are removed from the list because correspondence could not be delivered.

You will need an email address to create your account before you begin.

Application Steps

  1. Create your account. You will need a valid email address to register. Use the account creation guide to walk through setup: Account Creation Guide (PDF).
  2. Complete the online application. Submit your application through the HACY online portal: Apply Online.
  3. Watch for your confirmation. Once HACY receives and reviews your application, a confirmation will be sent by email and by mail to the address listed on your application.
  4. Review your confirmation carefully. Check that all your information is correct. If you do not receive your confirmation within 20 business days, call our office at (928) 782-3823 ext. 110.
  5. Keep your application updated. Notify HACY immediately whenever your mailing address, phone number, or household composition changes. Failure to update this information can result in removal from the list.

Waitlist Status

Waitlist availability changes over time. Contact HACY directly to ask about current RAD waitlist status and whether the list is accepting new applicants.

 

Tips for a Successful Application

  • Have your email address ready before you begin. You cannot complete registration without one.
  • Use accurate contact information. HACY mails important correspondence, and an incorrect address can result in removal from the list.
  • Save your login credentials. You will need them to log back in and update your application.
  • Update your application promptly when anything changes, including address, phone number, or family members.
  • Check your email and mail for confirmation after submitting. If you do not receive it within 20 business days, call (928) 782-3823 ext. 110.
